Thank you to everyone who took part in our consultation

Our consultation has now closed. Around 2,500 people took the time to talk to us at one of our 17 events and discuss our plans to help improve journeys between Milton Keynes and Cambridge. To help raise awareness of our proposals, our team was at three pop ups in Milton Keynes, Cambridge and Bedford town centre.

We also held 8 consultation events in venues ranging from St Neots town centre to village halls with experts in traffic, road design and environment. In addition, our mobile visitor centre was also out at 5 locations across the region to help spread the word.

Many thanks also to everyone who brought their children to one of our Minecraft workshops. Technology gives us new ways to engage and the chance to bring more young people into the planning process. By modelling the scheme in Minecraft, children have been able to explore the scheme and tell us what they think.

The consultation, which has lasted 8 weeks, has now closed (Sunday 28 July). You can still browse all the documents from the consultation on our online consultation hub.

We’ll be reading all your comments and analysing the data over the next few months, and producing a Public Consultation Report. Your feedback will help us finalise our plans before we submit our application to build the scheme to the Planning Inspectorate in 2020.

The scheme will deliver a number of benefits.

Cut congestion and increase capacity and journey time reliability between Milton Keynes and Cambridge. We will cut journey times by more than a third at peak times between Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet junctions.

Economic growth

Enable growth in jobs and housing and improve connections between people and jobs.

Improve safety at junctions, side roads and private accesses by reducing traffic flows on the existing A428.

Improve travel for horse riders, cyclists and walkers

We will improve the safety if horse riders, cyclists, walkers and those who use public transport by improving connections between communities.
